MEMPHIS, Tennessee – June 22, 2020 – The new 2020-2021 federal duck stamp goes on sale Friday, June 26. The stamps, which cost $25, are valid from July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021.

Purchased by millions of waterfowl hunters, wildlife enthusiasts and stamp collectors every year, duck stamps purchases provide critical funding to purchase and protect wetlands and associated habitat for ducks, geese and other wildlife species.

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Delta Waterfowl’s Working Wetlands — an innovative, incentive-based wetland conservation program with the potential to support the breeding efforts of 1.8 million ducks — opens enrollment this week as the Prairie Pothole Water Quality and Wildlife Program in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Montana. The rollout, administered by the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, results from Delta’s successful inclusion of Working Wetlands language in the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill.

In total, 43 state-specific online auction sites were launched on April 7 and plans are to hold weekly campaigns into early May. Great news: Under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Proposed 2020-2021 Frameworks for Migratory Bird Hunting Regulations, U.S. waterfowlers will again enjoy liberal season lengths this fall, including 60 days in the Atlantic and Mississippi flyways, 74 days in the Central Flyway and 107 days in the Pacific Flyway. The frameworks, which are based on spring 2019 breeding population surveys, 2018-2019 hunter harvest estimates and other data, include a seven-duck limit in the Pacific Flyway, and a six-duck limit across all others.
