You aim a rifle, but you should point a shotgun. As a bird is darting through the trees, the eye can??t focus on both the barrel and the bird. Most aim a shotgun because it does not fit them. They can??t trust that eye, barrel, and bird are in alignment so they check to see if everything is lined up before pulling the trigger. By aiming, the swing is interrupted and the shot is often lost behind the bird.
